Hi, I’m Lebogang Motsagi. I’m a Cape Town-based fashion designer, and for over a decade, I’ve been crafting handmade garments that challenge everything fast fashion stands for. I founded Atelier Maison 5472 because I believe fashion should last lifetimes, not seasons.

Every piece that leaves my studio is an expression of my commitment to quality, sustainability, and intentional design. I don’t believe in shortcuts. For me, fashion tells a story, each seam, each fabric choice, each detail carries meaning. My work lives at the intersection of heritage craftsmanship and contemporary minimalism, because I believe those two worlds should never be separate.

Beyond the studio, I’m constantly inspired by Cape Town’s creative landscape. You’ll find me lingering over coffee in eclectic cafés, observing the urban arts scene, finding beauty in everyday moments. These experiences find their way into everything I create. My designs carry the soul of this city because this city is part of who I am.

At Atelier Maison, we believe that fashion should tell a story. Every piece is an extension
of the wearer’s identity. We create slowly, thoughtfully, and with purpose, never chasing trends,

The Studio

Located in the heart of Cape Town, our studio is a creative sanctuary where
every piece comes to life. This is where design meets craftsmanship, where ideas
transform into wearable art. The space reflects our philosophy: minimal, intentional,
beautiful.

Walking through our studio doors means entering a space designed for focus. Every
surface, every corner, every tool has been chosen with intention. Natural light floods
the workspace, illuminating the fabrics and notions we source from around the world.
The quiet hum of concentrated work, sketching, cutting, hand-stitching is the
soundtrack to creation here.

Our studio is small by design. We believe that limitations breed innovation, and that
a small team moving with intention creates better work than a factory ever could.
